How the three slots work
The HUD in every official screenshot has three slots in the bottom-right corner, picked with 1, 2 and 3 on keyboard. Slot 1 always shows the nail gun. Slots 2 and 3 hold whatever tool or item you have picked up, such as the sledgehammer or the megaphone, and some show a count like 1/1 or 1/5. Anything else in the level (planks, chairs, steel beams, a washing machine, a fridge) is carried in your hands and can be nailed in place.
Before a job, launch streams showed Beans picking up snacks in the lobby and taking them into the level. What each snack does is only partly known, so the table above only lists effects that were shown clearly on camera.
On-screen prompts
These are the default PC prompts shown in official screenshots, plus two confirmed elsewhere (Ping from a launch stream and PlaySide's support centre, L1 from a PS5 video). Everything can be remapped under Settings > Controls; the full list is in the controls guide.

Why there is no tool tier list here
Every tool does a different job, and nobody has published measured numbers (nail strength, durability, blast radius) for any of them. A ranking would be opinion dressed up as data, so this page sticks to what each item does and where that was shown. When PlaySide adds tools in an update, they go straight into the table.
