Dumb Ways to Die Games: Where Dumb Ways to Build Fits
Where it started
Dumb Ways to Die began in November 2012 as a public-safety campaign by Metro Trains Melbourne, made with the agency McCann. The animated music video, with its cast of Beans dying in silly ways before the rail-safety message, went viral and passed 350 million YouTube views. In June 2013 the campaign won the Integrated Grand Prix at the Cannes Lions festival.

Who owns it now
On 1 October 2021, Australian studio PlaySide Studios bought the Dumb Ways to Die franchise from Metro for A$2.25 million. That is why the new games carry ”© PlaySide Studios Ltd. & Dumb Ways to Die”, and why Steam lists the developer and publisher as Dumb Ways to Die.
How Dumb Ways to Build is different
The phone games are quick solo mini-games: tap, swipe, save the Bean. Dumb Ways to Build is a full co-op game on PC, PS5 and Xbox where up to four players build their own route through a construction job. The Beans, the humour and the Dumbville setting carry over; the rest is new. For what that involves, start with the jobs page and the beginner guide.
Dumb Ways to Party vs Dumb Ways to Build
They are two different games from the same team. Dumb Ways to Party is a competitive party game: up to four players go head to head in mini-games to become “the Dumbest of the Dumb”, and its Steam page lists shared or split-screen PvP. Dumb Ways to Build is co-operative, online only, with no split-screen. Party had no price or exact date on Steam as of 11 September 2026.
Is there a Dumb Ways to Die game on PC?
Yes: Dumb Ways to Build is on Steam now, and Dumb Ways to Party has a Steam page for its 2026 release. The original mini-game apps were made for phones. More co-op games in the same vein are on the games like Dumb Ways to Build page.
