Is there a launch discount?
No. A developer answered this on the Steam forum the day before launch: there is no launch discount outside of bundles. Buying through a bundle, or already owning the other game in it, is the only way to pay less right now.
The DUMBANANA! Bundle
On launch day PlaySide announced the DUMBANANA! Bundle, which pairs Dumb Ways to Build with BOMBANANA!, a three-player co-op bomb-defusal game by Lefto Studio. Buying both together takes an extra 10% off. BOMBANANA! itself costs $7.99 and came out on 2 September 2026; on 11 September it had 1,943 positive Steam reviews out of 2,007 (97%). More co-op games in the same price band are on the games like page.
Hidden costs
- PS5: the PlayStation Store notes that PS Plus is required for online play, and co-op is the whole game.
- Everyone needs a copy. There is no split-screen, so a crew of four is four purchases.
Sharing and refunds
- Steam Family Sharing works: family members can install and play, one person at a time.
- PS5 family sharing works if both consoles are set as primary; Xbox sharing works through a Home Xbox.
- Refunds go through the store you bought from (Steam, PlayStation Store or Microsoft Store), under that store’s rules. PlaySide does not handle them.
Content creators
PlaySide gives out keys to creators through Keymailer, and the game is also on Dare Drop, where creators complete challenges for rewards. Not every application is accepted.
